GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING, October 14th & 21st, 2021 6:30 PM

The Uwharrie Players will conduct a general membership meeting at 6:30 pm on Thursday, October 14th. At this meeting, the Board will propose an amendment to change the number of general board members from five to nine. The process for amending the UP constitution is contained in Article VII of the constitution. You can review the amendment process by clicking on "About Us", and clicking "Constitution and ByLaws".

If approved, the amendment will change the first sentence of section two, Article 1V, which currently states, "The business of the organization shall be run by a Board of Directors, which shall consist of FIVE elected Board Members and four elected organizational officers" to "The business of the organization shall be run by a Board of Directors, which shall consist of NINE elected Board Members and four elected organizational officers." 

The board of directors unanimously recommends approval of the proposed amendment, as it will create greater community engagement, leadership and support for the UP, and will enhance organizational diversification. 

There will be a general membership meeting at 6:30 pm on Thursday, October 21, at the UP clubhouse, at which the proposed amendment will be voted upon by the members in attendance.
